Fire in Beirut port partially extinguished

The fire broke out in the duty-free zone of the port, in a warehouse where oil barrels and automobile tires were stored.

According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, which was immediately ordered by the public prosecutor, the fire caused an electrical installation or kitchen oil that had just been repaired, and the fire moved to the nearby tires.

The great fire caused panic among the residents after a massive explosion in that port on 4 August, and many people left Beirut just in case.

After a massive explosion of 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate in the port, which occurred five weeks earlier, was killed on site or later died due to injuries of over 190 people. In addition, 6,500 people were injured and thousands of buildings were damaged or destroyed.
