Prime Minister: The arms industry is jobs and modern dual-use technologies

The arms industry is jobs and modern dual-use technologies: military and civil – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a visit to Mesko's armament facilities in Skarżysko Kamienna.
While visiting Mesko plants, the Prime Minister stressed that it is important that the largest part of arms production take place in Poland and that our country develops modern technologies in this area. He assured that not only military commanders, but also the head of armed forces, President Andrzej Duda, have an understanding for the restoration of the production capacity of Polish weapons plants.
"These are jobs. Within the arms industry, some countries create a lot of new jobs, and some technologies arise at the interface between weapons and civil technologies – these are dual-use technologies. We are also developing various technologies that we will be able to use (also) for the sake of the civil industry," said the Prime Minister.
As an example of such technologies, he exchanged electronics and computer science. "This is why we are modernizing plants such as this one, towards an increasingly modern use of equipment, machines, technology, electronics and computer science. This is a process that will have to continue," he said.
The Prime Minister also assured that Poland is on a very good path to further modernization of the Polish army, which is appreciated in NATO.
