The project "EMC-LABNET" takes on momentum

Positions for testing the resistance of marine engineering equipment: to low frequency disturbances and to fluctuations of power supply parameters on vessels, simultaneously with voltage and frequency changes – these are the latest devices that have reached the EMC electromagnetic compatibility laboratory expanded by the Research and Development Centre. Although the construction of the laboratory has not yet begun, new research stations have already been launched.

The delivery of equipment, carried out by the company "EMC-FORTO s.c.", is another milestone in the process of building and equipping a comprehensive research facility of EMC electromagnetic compatibility laboratory. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme Smart Development 2014-2020. It aims to expand and complement the technical and laboratory bases of the members of the "EMC-LabNet" Consortium and to establish a strategic network of laboratories, which provide the basis for research, development and certification research, carried out to improve the functioning and competitiveness of the Polish economy, protect the environment, people and technical equipment against electromagnetic radiation.

In the first stage, the delivery of equipment to the Gdynia Centre included stations forming a system for generating and measuring anomalies in various power systems. They respond to the growing demand for technical research and update the requirements of increasingly advanced electronic devices. Posts are used to provide commercial services practically since their delivery to the laboratory. Successfully, even during the construction of the new laboratory, the equipment will be delivered for subsequent areas covered by the project.

– "A laboratory focused largely on maritime technology, able to perform accurate tests and complete comprehensive service, from verification of technical documentation to certification, will be the only such unit in Poland and one of the few such facilities in Europe" – stated the President of the Management Board of OBR CTM S.A. Marcin Wiśniewski.

"With the new position, we are able to meet all requirements, in the field of low frequency conduction disorders, imposed by both the provisions of the directives of the European Union and the maritime classification societies, i.e. the Polish Register of Ships, Germanische Lloyd (GL), DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNS) etc."– added project manager EMC LabNet Piotr Nisgorski.

Within the framework of the signed contract, the company "EMC-FORTO s.c." also trained employees in the field of service, diagnostics and operation of posts.

"Our cooperation has resulted in OBR CTM S.A. acquiring a comprehensive system designed to test the resistance of electronic devices to disturbances, low frequency and power anomalies. In addition, the training provided allowed employees of OBR CTM S.A. to expand their knowledge in the area of new capabilities of EMC laboratory, but also to increase the quality of services provided through new competences. "EMC-FORTO s.c." Grzegorz Modrykamień concluded.
