Ferries from the Polish shipyard will connect London. Double Launch in Repair

On May 15th, Gdańsk Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Repair Yard launched two hybrid passenger-car ferries. Ships were created on order of British shipowner Transport for London.
Shipbuilding's refurbishment emphasizes that this was the first in the history of the shipyard to simultaneously launch two ships from one dock. In the information published on its website, the company stated that the operation was complicated and required careful preparation and accurate calculations.
To do so, the shipbuilders had to first move both ferries to the floating dock, then tilt the dock to the depth and dip. After checking the seal of the hulls and the bottom-to-board fittings of the unit were docked.
Now specialists from Shipbuilding are preparing to launch equipment and systems mounted on ships. One of them is a modern exhaust aftertreatment system. It is of particular importance because ferries will be used in a crossing through the Thames connecting two districts of London: Woolwich and North Woolwich.
The contract between Shipbuilding Repair Yard and Transport of London was signed on 30 September 2016. Construction of units began in spring 2017. Repair does not disclose the value of the contract. The technical project was prepared by the LMG Marin design office, and the working documentation was prepared by the Marine Design & Consulting Repair Office of the Holding Group. Ships are 62.3 m long and 18.8 m wide.
Each of the ferrywill take up to 150 passengers and 45 passenger cars on board. According to the unit's assumptions, it will carry 2.6 million people and over one million cars per year.
The ferries are equipped with hybrid drive. Generating units mounted in units received exhaust aftertreatment modules. They will make ships more environmentally friendly.
