Vard Group with contract to build a luxury cruiser [VIDEO]

The Vard shipyard group, which was capitalized by the Italian company Fincantieri, received an order to build a luxury expedition ship for German shipowner Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.

The Vard Group stated in its communication that a luxury cruiser would join an exclusive Hanseatic series of ships, which is a hallmark of the Hapag-Lloyd Cruises line. Vard is currently building two other units of this series for the German shipowner.

Third cruiser for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises

The new Hanseatic series ships – Hanseatic Nature and Hanseatic Inspiatins – were designed by the Vard group in close collaboration with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. These are vessels intended for navigation in polar waters in Arctic and Antarctic areas, as well as to voyageThe warm waters of the Amazon.

Vard group chief Roy Reite is pleased with the new contract. The CEO of the Norwegian shipbuilding company stresses that the return to its company of a customer such as Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is satisfactory and is the best quality certificate of ships built by the shipyards of the Vard group. It recalls that the two ships that are currently building its company will be delivered to the shipowner within the prescribed time limit, i.e. in 2019.

Luxury Hanseatic series ship

The new luxury expedition cruiser to which the order relates will measure 130 m long and 22 m wide. Its buoyancy was estimated at 16,000 tonnes. According to the Vard group's message, the ship will have seven passenger decks. The guests will have 120 rooms and apartments, which will accommodate a total of 230 passengers. Luxury equipment of the ship will provide guests with a rest standard similar to the one that offers the most exclusive hotels in the world. On the cruiser, despite its relatively small size, guests will be able to use the spa lounge and fitness club.

Ship supply is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021. The hull will be built by Vard group shipyard in Romania and the yard in Langsten, Norway will be responsible for the finishing work and interior fittings. The ship will also be handed over to the shipowner.

The Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Tour Line belongs to the German tourist company TUI Group.
