Increasing tensions in the Middle East: China strengthens maritime presence

Faced with increasing tensions in the Middle East, China has decided to strengthen its maritime presence in the region. According to official communications from the Chinese Ministry of Defence, six Chinese warships operated in the Middle East waters last week.

Following the recent terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel, the situation in the region is becoming increasingly tense. As a response, the United States sent two Task Forces to the Middle East, highlighting its role as a key player in the region.

Meanwhile, China, which had previously maintained a certain maritime presence in the Middle East to ensure the safety of important shipping routes, has decided to strengthen this presence. Originally, the Chinese 44th Escort Task Force was sent to the Middle East with a routine mission in the Gulf of Aden. However, instead of returning to China, she wrapped herself in a port in Kuwait after participating in a joint naval exercise in Maskata, the capital of Oman.

In the light of the increasing tension in the South China Sea, China's recent actions seem to be more aggressive than usual. The event of last week, when the Philippines supplied their troops on the Second Lavender of Thomas, an atoll in the Spratly Islands archipelago, became another incendiary point. The supply convoys, escorted by the coast guard ships of the Philippines, encountered a strong blockade by Chinese units, which highlights China's willingness to escalate the conflict in the region.

At the same time, we note the intensification of Chinese naval activities in the Middle East. It is assumed that the increasing presence of the Chinese fleet in the region is part of a broader strategy to increase the revenue of the State. It is also possible that these actions aim to draw attention from their activities in the South China Sea or to demonstrate to the world that an era has arrived in which the next country will play a key role in shaping global security. Such moves may lead to further tensions in the global arena, thereby posing a potential threat to international stability.
