RWE talks to Polish suppliers about orders for the marine transformer station

RWE continues dialogue with Polish subcontractors interested in the construction of wind farm in the Baltic. The second stage of the talks will concern the marine transformer station in which representatives of the equipment supplier – Chantiers de l’Atlantique

The meeting with service providers and components for the marine transformer station, built as part of the F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm project, will be held at the Mercure Gdańsk Stare Miasto hotel, 22 Jan Heweliusza Street, 23 June 2022 from 9:00 to 16:00.

We have the next stage of implementation of the F.E.W. BALTIC II farm project. We're starting preparations to build a marine transformer station. When organising a meeting on technical requirements, design specifications and timetable for the implementation of the entire project, we want to reach the Polish companies interested in supporting RWE Renewables and the general contractor of this part of the investment. We hope that the prospect of participating in the development of the national offshore sector will encourage domestic entities to participate in the meeting and co-realization of one of the pioneer projects in the Polish Baltic.

It is another event of a larger cycle, including dialogue with potential subcontractors, who may be involved in the construction of the infrastructure of the RWE offshore wind farm. When implementing the project F.E.W. Baltic II, RWE will contribute significantly to the development of the Polish economy and green energy transformation in our country.

The event organised in the very centre of Gdańsk will be an opportunity to obtain detailed information on the implementation of the marine transformer station entering
in the technical infrastructure of the F.E.W. Baltic II project. According to the investment schedule adopted, the installation of the transformer station was planned for 2025 and the wind farm RWE Renewables will start producing electricity in 2026. After full activation, F.E.W. Baltic II with a capacity of 350 MW will be able to produce enough green electricity to meet the needs of approximately 350,000 Polish households.

The meeting will present information and presentations on:

  • how to build the chain of suppliers and its structure;
  • the contract schedule;
  • technical and competence requirements for potential suppliers;
  • the supply cultivation mechanism;
  • cultures of cooperation with RWE Renewables and general contractor.

The meeting will be attended by both representatives of the investor – RWE Renewables and the general contractor of the contract, supplier of the marine trafo station – Chantiers de l’Atlantique.

This is another meeting with potential cooperating companies, at which this time we will present the specificity of the implementation of the marine transformer station – one of the key elements of the future wind farm F.E.W. Baltic II.

The meeting with service providers will take place in a form of open dialogue, implemented on a partnership basis, allowing for the free exchange of information and obtaining priceless contacts and relationships. This is particularly important for those who plan to enter the offshore elevator sector effectively. We want to invite these Polish companies, for which it will be an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in the green energy segment.
