Saab with agreement on Double Eagle systems for Poland

Saab signed an agreement with the Gdynia Naval Port Command to supply integrated level 2 logistics support for Double Eagle Mk III and Double Eagle SAROV systems. The value of the contract is PLN 14.7 million and will be implemented between 2021 and 2023. The range of supplies per year will include the supply of spare parts, special tools, technical documentation and training.

The signed contract is an extension of the existing support of Double Eagle Mk III and Double Eagle SAROV systems for mine-mining activities (MCM). The first of the vehicles was installed on board the ORP "Kormoran" ship, while SAROV systems will be installed on subsequent ships built under the Kormoran II programme.

Saab's Double Eagle systems include a number of submarines intended for mine-based operations. Thanks to the different configurations of vehicles and load integration, it is possible to prepare a solution for each scenario – from diagnosis to neutralisation of mines. For example, Double Eagle SAROV can be equipped to operate both as a remote-controlled vehicle (ROV) using a cabolin and independently as an autonomous submarine (AUV) using its own power accumulators.
