Sea Ceptor will protect new frigates Type 31 Royal Navy

The system produced by MBDA Sea Ceptor will provide protection for the new frigates Type 31, which will receive the Royal Polish Navy (Royal Navy). The British Ministry of Defense just ordered this weapon.
Sea Ceptor is the world's most modern air defense system in its class. Using the CAMM (Common Anti-Air Modular Missile), it provides advanced short-range air defense as well as zoned air defense. It will allow Type 31 frigates to protect at the same time both their own and other units that are nearby – against already existing and future threats, including missile maneuvering missiles, impact aircraft and fast impact units.
Eric Beranger, President of MBDA, said: "We are very pleased with the latest success of the CAMM family. The Sea Ceptor system is designed to revolutionize the rules of combat in the air defense and quickly fulfill the promises made. CAMM will be a frigate type 31 weapon that has joined the ever-growing list of ships to protect".
The new contract provides for the integration of Sea Ceptor into frigate Type 31 systems, as well as the supply and installation of ship equipment for these units. The contract prepared and implemented in the UK is part of the Portfolio Management Agreement (PMA), a partnership initiated in 2010 between the British Ministry of Defence and the MBDA on the sovereign ability to design and manufacture advanced weapons. The PMA provides British armed forces with access to world-class military equipment and has already led to the maintenance of more than 4000 jobs in British MBDA facilities, allowing savings of over £1.2 billion.
Sea Ceptor provides frigate Type 23 of the Royal Navy and will also protect the new frigate Type 26. The United Kingdom Ministry of Defence maintains common provisions of CAMM missiles both for the war fleet and for the land troops. The CAMM missile family was selected by a constantly growing group of other countries to both sea and land air defense.
