PSEW2026: Szczecin Shipyard "Wulkan" strengthens production for offshore elevators

The Fund for the Development of Companies S.A. wants to increase the participation of its companies in offshore wind energy projects. Szczecińska Shipyard "Wulkan" already implements offshore contract worth PLN 50 million, and subsequent orders for the offshore wind farm sector are ready.

The PSEW2026 conference, held on 8-10 June, brought together 2.5 thousand participants from 45 countries. One of the most important topics was local content, i.e. the share of national industry in the construction of offshore wind farms in the Baltic. In practice, this means striving for the largest part of the investment to reach Polish companies, shipyards, production plants and subcontractors.

During PWEW2026 in Świnoujście, the Fund for the Development of Companies S.A. clearly indicated that offshore elevators are to be one of the main directions of development of the Group's companies. The position of the FRS was presented by Aleksandra Skibniewska, President of the Board of the Fund.

The talk about local content leads to one thing for me: without our shipyards, steel structures and people who build them, this transformation will not bring the expected development impulses. Therefore, we are directing Szczecin Shipyard "Wulkan" towards production projects for offshore elevators and actively supporting their development.

Offshore elevators are no longer just a reconnaissance direction for Vulcans. The Szczecin shipyard begins to build a portfolio of orders in two areas: production for offshore wind energy and defence projects. In May the company entered the program of building a rescue ship for the Polish Navy, ReclaimdFor building a bow block. In parallel, it develops the production of steel structures for the offshore sector.

The FRS wants to exploit the potential of the entire Group. The Marine Ship Refurbishment Shipyard "Grifia" has experience in repairs and modernization of vessels, and the Ship Recycling Plant Szczecin may be the base for ecological recycling of offshore units and components.

For Western Pomerania This is a chance for stronger entry into the offshore wind supply chain. It is not only about participation in single orders, but about rebuilding the industrial backdrop, which will earn on large investments in the Baltic.
