War Shipyard signs new contracts and returns to civilian production

The restoration of the industrial competences of the shipyard from Gdynia Oxyvia will in particular include specialised and equipment works.

– The finalisation of the order for the civil shipowner will allow us to further expand the technical and production resources, which will translate into building new advantages of the competing company. We will use the acquired competences in order to carry out subsequent orders obtained from commercial customers and the Polish Navy – explains the head of the PGZ of Konrad Konefał War Shipyard.

The contract to build a civilian "turnkey" ship is another signal that the defence yard is developing. And there are many challenges that the PGZ of War Shipyard will face in the near future. This is primarily the finalization of the construction of an intelligence ship for the Swedish Navy – a project that the company is cooperating with Nauta Shiprepair Yard. This is also the completion of smaller modernisation projects, concerning. This is the end of the construction of the ORP Slazak patrol vessel. According to our informants from the Polish Armed Forces Group, the work on this last ship is progressing successfully and on schedule.

Moreover, the findings concerning the company's participation in the construction of two further Kormoran II mine destroyers for the Polish navy ended. The defence company in Gdynia will be responsible for equipping the units with communication and navigation subsystems, weapons and information networks and alarm system.

– After long negotiations we managed to rebuild the trust of the partners from the consortium and return to active participation in the prestigious project, from which the former bankrupt Naval Shipyard resigned – the President of the Konefał is not satisfied. There is also a project to build a rescue ship for the Polish Navy, on which PGZ Stocznia Wojenna She got it, too. The consortium of compositions is responsible for the construction of the ship: Polish Armed Forces Group, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, Nata Shiprepair Yard and Research and Development Centre of Marine Technology. According to the disclosure, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and Nauta shipyard will carry out work related to the construction and equipment of the ship. The project assumes that the lifeguard will be 96 m long and 19 m wide.

The implementation of a number of projects requires increased capacity of shipyards. The company invests in the modernisation of shipbuilding equipment and also buys new equipment. As we have already written, the first stage of the investment programme will consume about PLN 50 million. Besides, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna He has been conducting a recruitment campaign for several months, which has not yet finished. Recently 170 applications for employment were received by the shipyard, and at the turn of the second and third quarters the company hired several people in the production department.
