General Staff of Ukraine: Russians try to occupy the borders of the Kherson region

Russian troops are now carrying out combat actions during the invasion of Ukraine, which aim to reach the administrative border of the Kherson region – the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine estimates in a communication, published on Sunday evening.

The opponent carries out combat actions aimed at reaching the administrative boundary of the Kherson circuit and creating favorable conditions for the offensive on the Nicholas and the Leaning Horn. The main efforts were focused on offensive attempts towards the Leaning Horn. In the direction of Mikołajew, "the enemy conducts regrouping of troops" and reconnaissance action using drones.

In the occupied areas, Russian troops "continue their attempts to create a system of so-called power" - the Ukrainian army warns. She called on citizens to "still resist the occupiers completely".

Russian troops were unable to occupy Rubiżny and Popaszna – cities in the Luhansk region, which have been fought for weeks. In the Donetsk region, the second of the Ukrainian Donbass circuits, the occupiers unsuccessfully conducted offensive activities in the area of Ozerne and Marjinka.

The threat of missile strikes of the opponent from the territory of Belarus to military and civilian infrastructure facilities located in the territory of Ukraine remains, as well as the threat of provocation in areas close to the Ukrainian border, followed by the responsibility of troops of our defence forces.
