A Russian oil tanker cannot dock in a port in Amsterdam

A ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, "Sunny Liger", which transports Russian oil, cannot dock in the port of Amsterdam. The reason is the opposition of port workers due to cargo from Russia. Earlier, the tanker could not stop in Sweden because the dock workers refused to operate it.

On Friday, the Minister Foreign affairs Wopke Hoekstra reported that the government cannot refuse a ship to stop in Dutch ports because it does not fly the Russian flag.

However, it turns out that due to the refusal of port personnel in Amsterdam, a tanker cannot dock in it. The FNV Havens trade union called for its members not to towing the ship to port.

On Saturday, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleh Nikolaenko, addressed a similar appeal. "We urge the Dutch government to immediately cause the tanker to drift away," Nikolenko tweeted.

Friday, trade unionists from the port of Rotterdam refused to dock "Sunny Liger". According to the NU portal, the reason was controversial cargo and solidarity with Swedish porters. According to media information, it was not the Swedish authorities who refused to accept the ship, but the Swedish porters.
