His death is a huge loss to the entire aviation community.
There was a tragic accident at the Gdynia Babich-Dłach airport on Friday. The M-346 Bielik aircraft, owned by the Polish Army, hit the airfield plate and went up in flames. As a result of the disaster, Major Pil. Robert "Killer" Jeł, one of the most experienced pilots of these machines in Poland, was killed.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, expressed his condolences through portal X, passing the words of support to the family of the deceased pilot. "Great soldier, husband and father. The man who gave his country what was most important. I offer my deepest condolences to families and loved ones" - he wrote in his statement, highlighting the enormous loss suffered by Poland and the Air Force.
Major Pil. Robert Jeł was an exceptional figure in the Polish Air Force, known for his great professionalism and passion for flying. His death is an unrepeated loss to Polish military aviation.
