Tragic Motorboat Accident on Lake Oak

During the tipping of the motorboat, seven people fell into the water, one of the girls was trapped in the cabin – told PAP asp. Ewelina Gryszpan from the press office of Szczecin police. Nine-year-olds failed to save them. The accident occurred on Saturday on Lake Deba, at the height of the Eagle Pass.

The accident occurred on Saturday around noon. The first reports of a motorboat accident on Lake Oak indicated that eight people fell overboard at the boat tipping. A 9-year-old girl recovered from a boat was resuscated for an hour, but unsuccessfully.

Mł. asp. Gryszpan informed PAP that at the tip of the boat seven people fell out of it. "When police officers and rescuers of the WOPR arrived at the scene of the accident, they were informed that there was a child in the overturned boat. The police dived and extracted the girl," Gryszpan told PAP.

"The baby had a cardiac arrest, a respiratory arrest. The child was resuscated by a medical rescue team in an ambulance and an air rescue team, which was also present on site. Unfortunately, despite an hour of resuscitation, heart function in the child could not be restored" - said the spokesman for the Provincial Emergency Station in Szczecin Paulina Targaszewska.

According to information provided by Targashewska from the group taken from the water by 6-year-old girl with upper limb injury, the shoulder was taken to the hospital with a 40-year-old mother who suffered head and shoulder injuries. A 6-year-old boy had abrasions and a 36-year-old woman went to the hospital with him.

Police reported that the helm was sober at the time of the incident.

Investigations are carried out at the scene of the accident. There's work going on to get the boat out.
