Transportation, clearings, offshore, atom in the draft sea plan

Akweny reserved for wind farms, for nuclear power plants, hydrocarbon extraction, sea transport, military camps – these are elements of the project of the Polish maritime development plan, published on Thursday.
The Ministry of Infrastructure submitted a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers on the adoption of a spatial planning plan for marine inland waters, territorial seas and exclusive economic zone to the Legal Commission and published the content. The plan is needed, for example, to reserve areas for offshore wind farms, now and in the future.
As underlined in the explanatory memorandum, the plan is the result of the need to safeguard maritime space for activities such as: enhancing the potential of the maritime economy based on the network of seaports; providing opportunities for the development and safety of shipping; industrial and energy use of marine resources such as offshore wind energy, maritime mining, fishing and nuclear energy, as well as sustainable and sustainable development of coastal and maritime tourism.
The solutions contained in the draft include the definition of the basic function of the water, other functions allowed on it, information on investments of the public purpose, including their deployment, planned to be carried out in the framework of the water function, conditions concerning the defence and security of the state or the establishment of binding local governments.
Among the specific solutions, one reservoir reserved for nuclear power plants and its cooling. Akwen has two variants, corresponding to the two locations concerned: Żarnowiec and Lubiatowo-Kopalino.
Seven areas have the primary function of generating renewable energy. It was allowed to generate energy from the wind. As highlighted in the explanatory memorandum of the draft plan, the most predestined aquenes were selected for the acquisition of renewable energy according to the collected planning materials and those for which valid location permits were issued.
Constructions for exploration, exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons are allowed in 17 reservoirs.
The fundamental function of the five waters is the defence and security of the state – these are marine areas that are closed to fishing and shipping.
Six separate waters have a basic function – protecting the environment and nature. These include, among others, the marine areas of the Wolinski and Slavic National Parks, and the areas of the Revival Lavica and Słupska Lavica.
