Trident Juncture 2018: crew of frigate ORP Gen. K. Pulaski exercises alongside allies

ORP rocket frigate Gen. K Pulaski participates in the 2018 international Trident Juncture exercise. These maneuvers are a training emergency response operation conducted on land, sea and air.

Admiral James G. Foggo, commander of NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, is in command of the force.

Some 50,000 soldiers, 70 ships, as well as 250 aircraft and 10,000 vehicles from 31 NATO Member States and partner countries are involved in the operation in Norway, as well as in the North Sea and Norwegian Sea.

As part of the International Trident Juncture 2018 exercises, the crew of frigates perfected anti-aircraft defense skills and resisting simulated attacks of submarines and submarines. The main focus will be on providing strategic cover for maritime transport, searching for and combating submarines, combating water and air targets and anti-terrorism operations. The sailors will also train their cooperation with aircraft, anti-failure defense, and fight asymmetrical threats. For the ship and its crew, this is the last element of preparations for service in NATO Response Forces. Fregata is scheduled to join them in 2019. The maneuvers under Trident Juncture 18 will last until November 7.

TRIDENT JUNCTURE is a planned, cyclical, international exercise of the North Atlantic Alliance held on land, sea and air. It is defensive and is implemented in accordance with Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which speaks of a common, collective defence of the members of the Alliance. This year's edition of the exercise will be conducted in Norway. The maritime theatre of activities provides for operations in the waters of the North Sea and Norway. About 50,000 soldiers, 70 ships and 250 aircraft from 29 Member States, as well as from Finland and Sweden, partner countries, not belonging to the Alliance but cooperating with it, have participated in this biggest training of NATO troops in years. It will be a certification for NATO Response Force units in 2019, as well as a test for the Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) in Naples, Italy.
