CENTCOM publishes a recording of the impact on Iranian drone carrier Shahid Bagheri

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has released a video showing a hit on Iran's drone carrier Shahid Bagheri. The material shows two hits to the ship's side and a fire on board.

Published March 5 video material shows moment of hit in an Iranian unit operating in Gulf waters. The video shows two strikes – one in the midship area of the left side, the other in the stern section. There were fires on board as a result of the explosion.
CENTCOM had previously reported that the attack was carried out on 2 March. However, it was not specified whether the released video shows this impact or documents further combat actions against this unit.
Rebuilt container ship — dimensions and functionality
Shahid Bagheri is the largest aircraft platform of the Iranian naval forces. The ship entered service in February 2025 after being rebuilt from a civilian container ship Perarin. The unit with a displacement of approximately 40 thousand tons was rebuilt, creating a launch deck about 180 metres long with a ski-jump runway, designed to operate unmanned aircraft.
According to information provided by CENTCOM, the ship served as floating platform which contained unmanned air systems. The unit was identified as one of the priority objectives of Operation Epicka Furia, launched on 28 February 2026.
The condition of the ship after the attack is currently unknown. The Iranian authorities have not yet referred to the impact information.
