Visborg's on the road. New Destination Gotland unit has accepted passengers

This is a very important event in the latest history of the Swedish carrier. Therefore, there were fanfares, ribbon cuttings and small gifts for the first passengers to sail on the Visborg ferry on the route from Gotland to Nynäshamn. 500 invited guests attended the organized ceremony, accompanying the first departure of the ferry on a regular tour.

New ferry Destination Gotland is a brand new travel standard for people moving between the popular island and continental Sweden. Built in the GSI shipyard (Guangzhou Shipyard International), the unit is powered by LNG fuel. It is 200 metres long and will be able to accommodate 1,650 passengers. It also has a cargo line of 1750 metres long.

It will be a sister unit that will receive the name Thjelvar. The shipowner will pick her up this summer.

Destination Gotland is a company which was established in 1998, with 100 percent of the shares of the carrier being owned by Rederi Ab Gotland (by 1999, 25 percent of the shares were owned by Silja Line). His ferries run between Gotland and Oskarshamn and Nynäshamn.
