There was a sheet cutting at the Repair Yard for the construction of the SIGINT ship

Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Ship, a ceremony was held to cut sheet metal for the construction of the first of the electronic survey ship series SIGINT (Signals Intelligence Ships), under the codename "Delfin".

Saab Kockums AB, a Swedish shipbuilding company that signed a contract with the Armed Forces Agency, commissioned the construction of these ships for the Polish Navy under the "Delfin" programme. New units will replace the ORP Navigation and ORP Hydrographwhich currently serve in the Navy of Poland.

The "Delfin" programme concerns the design, construction, delivery and logistical support of two radio-electronic recognition vessels. Saab Kockums AB bears full responsibility for the delivery of ships, including the delivery and integration of advanced entire mission and combat systems.

Shipbuilding S.A. is responsible for the construction of fully equipped ships and for carrying out all necessary tests, including carrying out a full range of HAT dock trials and sea SATs. The crews of radio-electronic reconnaissance vessels "Delfin" will contribute to the full range of reconnaissance activities of the Polish Navy. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technologies, crews will be able to obtain huge amounts of data, intercept communications and communication not only at sea but even inland.

In the context of recent developments in the North Sea on Russian "spectral ships", reconnaissance units SIGINT will play a key role in obtaining information from electronic intelligence signals. These units perform many tasks, including:

· Monitoring and interception of radio signals to identify communication between different military or civilian units,

· Analysis and decoding of intercepted signals for information on military or civilian purposes such as location, encryption, number and type of weapon,

· Detection and location of signal sources to determine the position of the opponent and prevent electronic attacks.

· Support the activities of the armed forces by providing information on military activity in the area and tracking the movement of hostile units.

· Conduct exploratory activities to obtain information on the plans and actions of hostile States or organisations.

SIGINT recognition ships are a key electronic intelligence tool and are an important part of the state security and defence activities.
