Visit of the Ambassador of Great Britain to the PGZ of the Naval Shipyard

17 October, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna she had the honour of hosting Her Excellency Anna Clunes, Ambassador of Great Britain to Poland, as well as representatives of the Polish Armed Forces Group and Babcock International. The official visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between Polish and British defence industry.
The hosts of the meeting were Beata Koniarska, Member of the Management Board PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, together with Andrzej Wojtkiewicz, Commercial Director. During the visit, a newly built office building and a hull hall were presented, which is a key element of the investment plan, supporting the efficient implementation of the program Miecznik, conducted by the Consortium PGZ-MIEKNIK in cooperation with Babcock International.
The visit was an excellent opportunity to present the progress of the work carried out under the Swordsman Programme and the results of cooperation with British partners. Guests had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the modern infrastructure of the shipyard and to see the assembly hall, which creates multi-purpose frigates for the Polish Navy.

The meeting was also attended by Jan Grabowski – Member of the Management Board of PGZ S.A., Roger Burek – Bors, Director of the Marine Project PZZ S.A., Lech Kaczanowski – Director of the Trade Section at the British Embassy and Ewa Kittel-Prejs – Director of Babcock Polska, who actively support the development of Polish-British cooperation in the shipbuilding and defence sector.
A visit to the Naval Shipyard of the PGZ SW is an opportunity to personally see progress on the Swordfish Program. The co-implementation of the MEASURANT programme in all its aspects (technical, technological or infrastructure) is a testament to a unique partnership between Poland and the UK. Our cooperation in this sector is an example of the strength of our ties, supporting technology transfer and sharing best practices that will drive the development of both our economies. Together, we are building a successful future based on intergovernmental cooperation with the participation of the shipbuilding sector.

Today's visit was an excellent opportunity to present the growing capabilities and potential of PGZ War Shipyard. Investments in modern production infrastructure are evidence of how effectively our shipyard is developing thanks to the Polish-British-based partnership program Miecznik. I hope that this is only the beginning of long-term cooperation, whose overarching objective is to build maritime security – Poland and allied countries.

The visit of the Ambassador of Great Britain highlights the growing interest in international cooperation in the defence and maritime sectors. By implementing the construction program of three multi-purpose frigates for MW RP, position PGZ Stocznia Wojenna as an important hub and potential partner in European military projects of the maritime safety area, which opens up new opportunities for both shipyards and the entire defence and shipbuilding industry in Poland.
