The Greek authorities have taken the Russian tanker Pegas

The Greek authorities seized a Russian-flagged oil tanker on Tuesday Pegas – informed the agency Reuter, citing an official of the Ministry of Shipping of Greece. It was added that the ship was seized under EU sanctions imposed on Russia for invading Ukraine.

The tanker was taken over near the town of Karistos located to the northeast of Athens, the island of Eubea. There were 19 crew members on board, all Russian citizens.

A representative of the Greek Coast Guard indicated that the ship was occupied, but not the oil it carried," added Reuters.
