All ports on the Black Sea and Azov Sea closed to ships

All ports located on the Black Sea and the Azov Sea have been temporarily closed to ships wishing to leave or influence them – the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure informed on Monday.

After that, as Russia made an armed invasion of Ukraine on 24 February, the Ukrainian military suspended commercial shipping in ports on the Black Sea and the Azov Sea. This raised concerns for Ukrainian exporters of cereals and oil seeds about supply disruption, informed the Reuter Agency.

There are currently about 300 ships in the Black Sea, according to the findings of the Panama Maritime Office (AMP), which Russia refuses to leave its waters.

On Monday, the head of the Zaporosian Ołeksandr Satruch reported that five grain ships had disappeared from the Berdian port on the Azov Sea. According to witnesses, they were abducted by Russians.
