Fire tasks in the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk [FOTO]

On Tuesday, April 27, in the Gulf of Gdańsk, the ORP Orkan and ORP Piorun rocket ships operated, as well as the ORP Slązak patrol corvette. Units have perfected the ability to conduct naval operations in a team of ships.
During training, in the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk, crews of ships performed a team fire task with the actual use of 76 mm artillery weapons, as well as fire tasks of a single ship using fast-shooting 30 mm cannons.
As part of joint activities at sea, sailors conducted a number of tactical episodes, including, among other things, maneuvering in formation or asymmetric activities. They also perfected the elements of the OPA (defence of an emergency ship), combating blasting fires and resulting hull punctures, as well as the procedures used in search and rescue operations and defense against the apparent attacks of diversion groups.
Additionally, ORP Orkan and ORP Lightning rocket ships have perfected their skills in carrying out missile attacks for navigating purposes.
This type of exercise is to improve training of naval forces in actions to safeguard the interests of the state at sea. In this way, Gdynia fleet sailors improve their skills in the event of actual combat operations and exercises at national and international level.
