The Board of Maritime Port Gdańsk has an advisor for the construction of the Central Port

DS Consulting – a company with which ZMPG signed a cooperation agreement – specializes in consulting public entities. It's been on the market for 21 years.

"We have great satisfaction that we will be able to participate in a project so important to the region and the whole country. For years we have been successfully supporting public sector entities in the preparation of large infrastructure projects, helping in pre-realization analyses, obtaining funding and negotiations with business partners. We will work together with our subcontractors: Wuprohyd from Gdynia and the Warsaw law firm Dr. Rafał Cieślak specialising in public-private partnership issues", said the president of DS. Consulting Rafał Szporko.

Under the agreement concluded, DS Consulting will carry out pre-realisation analyses (including a feasibility study) and provide ongoing transactional advice that will cover economic, financial, market, technical and legal issues.

"DS Consulting will work with ZMPG over four years. During this time, the company will support the Port Board in discussions with potential partners, preparing applications for funding, creating documentation on contracts under public-private partnerships with individual counterparties. We hope that cooperation will increase the competence of our team, which will allow us to permanently and effectively negotiate large-scale business contracts. Our partner, thanks to port projects, will also be able to obtain more lucrative orders. Our cooperation will serve Port Gdańsk, Agglomeration Gdańsk and the whole Polish economy" - said ZMPG Vice President for Infrastructure Marcin Osowski.

In May this year, the Board of Maritime Port Gdańsk presented the final concept of investment. In the end, the Central Port is to be a complex from 6 to 8 terminals and deep-water quays of varying destiny.

There is a container terminal, passenger terminal, offshore, LNG or shipbuilding space on approximately 410 hectares. The investment is to be implemented in the form of a public-private partnership.

"We believe that the construction of such a complex infrastructure must tell about market demand. We want private investors to determine what terminals should be here. On the other hand, we want to provide both our future contractors and ourselves with professional project advice in such a formula. Therefore, today we signed a contract with specialists in the field of public-private partnership" – said ZMPG president Łukasz Greinke.
