We survived a night that could stop the history of Ukraine and Europe; Russian troops attacked the Zaporosian Atomic Power Plant – stated President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski in a video speech published on Friday on Facebook.
"We are fighting a powerful enemy who has a numerical advantage, who has an advantage in equipment. However, it is thousands of light years away from normal people who have dignity," said the Ukrainian leader.

"We had a night that could stop the history of Ukraine and Europe. Russian troops attacked a nuclear power station in Zaporozh. The largest in Ukraine, the largest in Europe. She could have been like six Chernobyls. Russian tankers knew what they were shooting at. (...) It is an unprecedented terror" he added.
Then he switched to Russian and appealed: "Russians, I want to address you: how is this even possible? In 1986, we fought the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster together. How can this be forgotten? And if you have not forgotten, you must not remain silent. You have to go out on the streets, tell your authority you want to live. You want to live on an Earth without radioactive radiation. The radiation doesn't know where Russia is. He doesn't know where your borders are."
Zelenski reported that the talks he had since this morning indicate that world leaders are shocked by the attack on the nuclear power plant. "UK convenes UN Security Council in connection with this attack," he reported.
" Immediate sanctions are needed against this country (i.e. Russia – PAP) – an atomic terrorist. Airspace should be immediately closed over Ukraine. Only in this way can it be guaranteed that Russia will not lead rocket fire and will not drop bombs on nuclear objects" - the Ukrainian President called for.
"Almost the entire Russian army is thrown against our nation, but heroic resistance of the Ukrainians has been saving our country from this invasion for nine days. Ukrainian cities have not seen such inhuman cruelty since the Nazi occupation. Chernihów, Ochtyrk, Mariupol, Kharkiv – there they deliberately destroy people, residential districts," said Zelenski, calling for the residents of occupied cities to make it clear to the Russians that they are not at home and are not welcome.
