Winter training of Navy miners

In the last two weeks, in the winter scenery of Mrągów, over picturesque Lake Czos, training of miners divers and Navy submarine engineers was held. Focusing on acquiring the skills necessary for underwater operations and strengthening overall physical fitness, emphasizes the importance of this event for the operational readiness and safety of underwater Poland.
Divers and experts from various units of the Polish Navy gathered in training led by the 8th Coast Defence Fleet. Using the facilities of the Military Training and Condition Centre, participants perfected diving techniques and performed specialized underwater tasks.

Within nearly two weeks, participants of the training had the opportunity to exercise intensively using autonomous and wired diving equipment, as well as advanced semi-closed respiration apparatus. Another important element were training with sonars and underwater mine detectors, focusing on search, identification and preparation for the extraction of sunk objects – skills invaluable in explosive hazard removal operations.
The achievement of the training objectives exceeded our expectations. Scenario exercises, simulating actual underwater hazard neutralisation operations, proved to be invaluable practice. A joint training of various divisions always brings tangible benefits, allowing you to improve skills in a stress-free atmosphere.
Group Commander
Diving, however, is only one of the many skills developed during the group. Equally important were intensive conditioning activities to strengthen the overall physical fitness needed in military service of such a demanding nature.

Polish Navy The Polish company has specialized Miner Divers Groups from the 12th and 13th trawlers division and Engineering Divers Group. These elite units, operating under the aegis of the 8th Coast Defence Fleet and in shore units, are ready to intervene throughout the year, both on sea and inland waters, maintaining a high level of readiness and skills through continuous training.
Winter grouping is not only an opportunity to improve skills and enhance performance, but also to build a team that in real combat operations must act as a well-oiled machine. Preparation to operate under extreme conditions offered by winter is an invaluable experience, improving the efficiency and safety of submarine operations conducted by the Polish Navy.
