Soldiers heard allegations of tendering for a ship for nearly PLN 1.5 billion

Three officers and the vice president of the board of directors of the shipyard heard allegations related to the setting of a tender for a rescue ship worth PLN 1 billion 460 million. Men are threatened by up to 5 and 10 years in prison.
Investigative findings show that the officers of the Polish Army exceeded their public procurement powers and after the closing of the tender procedure for the ship "Rescuer" replaced the document in an offer previously submitted by one of the shipyards. ‘The new document contained data on the stability, unsinkability and speed of the ship in accordance with the Initial Tactical-Technical Principles. However, this information was falsified – the ship described in the order did not actually meet the requirements of the specifications," the National Prosecutor's Office communicated.
As a result, the prosecutor presented the allegations to the officer, Lt. Krzysztof O., chairman of the Tender Commission in the MON Armed Forces Inspectorate; to the retired Mr. Wojciech W., secretary of the tender committee in the MON Armed Forces Inspectorate; to the retired Mr. Jarosław B., to an armed company employee and to Adam P., vice president of the board of the ship repair yard.
They have all heard allegations of making and making an unreliable statement concerning circumstances of importance for obtaining the order, for which they are facing up to 5 years in prison.
