Wishes of the Commander of the Gdynia garrison on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the formation of the Navy

Ladies, gentlemen Officers, Petty Officers, Sailors and Soldiers, Staff of the Ministry of Defence of Gdynia National Defence units and institutions!
On 28 November 1918, Marshal Józef Piłsudski ordered the formation of the Polish Navy by his order. This record opened the modern history of the Polish Navy.
Although the maritime activity of Poles has been going on for 1,000 years, it was only the above document that gave us a sense of having the Navy from a real event.
I would like to stress that Polish sailors always remembered their traditions and roots, and Polish ships on their sides were constantly proud of the names preceded by the letters "ORP".
We are proud of the fact that in the history of Poland, in the most difficult moments of Poland and for our nation, we never lacked people in naval uniforms. They also made a significant contribution to the realization of the eternal dreams of Poland on the Baltic.
On the day of our holiday it is also impossible to forget about the achievements of Polish sailors written with gold notes on the pages of history, and resembling heroism and the donation of blood in the battles of the 1920 war, in defence of Warsaw, sailors of the Marine Regiment, Vistula Flotilla, Pińska Flotilla, defenders of the Polish Coast 1939, sailors of the Independent Operational Group "Polesie" and sailors of the Polish Naval Branch in Great Britain, but also touching Polish marriage with the Sea of 10.02.1920. It is a huge military and human effort of our predecessors, as well as the burden of rebuilding the maritime state that we should have in our hearts and minds. It is a great asset and heritage, which provide great capital to build our modern day.
Memory of the achievements of Polish sailors and soldiers over 102. Years of history of the Polish Navy should oblige us to be proud of the service and work for the Polish Armed Forces.
Although we are experiencing many difficulties today, they have a different character and dimension. Today we create the Polish Army and its institutions on the foundation of a free, independent state, and this is an invaluable value. We should always remember that.
On this solemn day of the Navy Day of the Republic of Poland, I make to the staff, and to military staff, all those who contribute to the smooth functioning of the units and institutions of the garrison Gdynia heartfelt thanks for the effort, effort and sacrifices, often incurred at the expense of the family, for responsible and difficult service and for working in our coastal garrison.
On the occasion of our beautiful holiday, I warmly greet you and wish you all a lot of perseverance in service and work and satisfaction with the common achievements.

Respectfully.

Rear Admiral Mirosław Jurkowlaniec

Commander of the Gdynia garrison
