We wtorek strategiczny niemiecki Kanał Kiloński został ponownie otwarty po tygodniowym zamknięciu spowodowanym wyciekiem ropy.
21 grudnia pod dnem Kanału z rurociągu wyciekło około 12 100 litrów ropy do wewnętrznego portu w Brunsbuttel, wejścia do kanału przez Morze Północne i rzekę Łaba. Według Tobiasa Goldschmidta, ministra środowiska, plama ropy rozprzestrzeniła się na odcinku wody o długości około 6,5 km.
Około 150 ochotników i pracowników oraz trzy jednostki pływające włączyły się w działania mające na celu złagodzenie wycieku. Śluzy kanału zostały tymczasowo zamknięte, aby zapobiec rozprzestrzenianiu się zanieczyszcznia. Gruba warstwa oleju unosząca się na wodzie musiała zostać usunięta za pomocą sorbentu, zanim można było wznowić ruch.
Po zamknięciu kanału co najmniej 30 statków stało w korku i czekało na ponowne otwarcie drogi wodnej. Niektóre jednostki zdecydowały się zmienić kurs i zamiast tego żeglować wokół Danii przez Kattegat. Według niemieckiego radia NDR, zamknięcie drogi wodnej kosztowało niemiecką żeglugę ponad 1,5 miliona dolarów dziennie.

Ostateczne sprzątanie zajmie więcej czasu, ale zdecydowana większość wycieku została usunięta. Prace osiągnęły etap, który pozwolił bezpiecznie wznowienie żeglugi.
Kanał Kiloński to sztuczna droga wodna i morski kanał wodny łączący Morze Północne z Bałtykiem. Kanał mierzy 98,26 km długości i umożliwia mniejszym jednostkom skrócenie podróży między tymi dwoma regionami. Co trzeci statek towarowy poruszający się po kanale to tankowiec lub gazowiec. Po inwazji Rosji na Ukrainę zwiększył się tam głównie ruch tankowców.
Kanał został wybudowany w XIX wieku, ale w latach poprzedzających I wojnę światową został powiększony, aby dostosować go do wymiarów największych niemieckich okrętów wojennych z tamtych czasów. Dziś może przyjmować statki o długości do 235 metrów i szerokości do 32 metrów.
Podobnie jak Bosfor, Kanał Kiloński jest otwarty dla żeglugi międzynarodowej na mocy traktatu, mimo tego jest utrzymywany i kontrolowany przez władze lokalne.

In some cases, programmes advance physically-modules assembled, steel cut, keels laid—while formal delivery confidence ratings indicate that successful completion remains uncertain without corrective action.

Delivery milestones have likewise shifted to the right as design completion and industrial mobilisation advance.
These developments do not indicate programme failure. Rather, they suggest that risk has not been eliminated but redistributed. In Miecznik’s case, a significant portion of that risk appears to have emerged early through renegotiations and baseline revisions, rather than later through formal delivery‑confidence warnings. As a result, the programme enters its construction and integration phases with less schedule margin and greater sensitivity to sunk cost than originally envisaged.
The German Case: Modular Ambition Under Fragmented Governance
Recent German frigate programmes add another dimension to the European landscape. Despite access to one of Europe’s most capable naval industrial bases, outcomes have been repeatedly shaped less by technology than by governance structure.

For neighbouring allies approaching major surface‑combatant decisions, including Sweden and Denmark, recapitalisation delays are therefore not a purely national concern. They affect the entire region, shaping deterrence, interoperability and collective resilience.
